Awards let stars shine (added 30.06.08)
A GMTV celebrity, the Minister for Digital Inclusion, and a vast array of stakeholders and partners gathered together to celebrate the achievements of outstanding UK online centres, staff and customers at our National Awards last week. The event, which took place at the Globe Theatre in London, saw 27 winners in five categories go up to the stage to receive their Awards from GMTV star Andrea Mclean, cheered on by the 150 strong crowd. Paul Murphy, the Minister for Digital Inclusion, closed the Awards and paid tribute to all the winners for their amazing stories and exceptional achievements. Microsoft Digital Literacy Curriculum - Free Training in the autumn (added 30.06.08)
Together with Microsoft we've developed a one day training awareness programme to support centres who have signed up to deliver the Digital Literacy Curriculum (DLC). The free training will be delivered by experienced Microsoft trainers, and will cover the latest Microsoft Office product range. There will be various events taking place in the autumn - dates and locations to be announced very soon so watch this space to find out how you can book your place. Click here to take part.

Three new courses hit myguide (added 30.06.08)
Today marks the exciting launch of three great new courses on myguide - Using a computer, Using a mobile phone, and Understanding eBay online. Our new courses, together with our ten existing courses, are now available for your centre and visitors to use free of charge on myguide - so make sure you have a look today! What more, we're also planning to release a further six new exciting courses on myguide in the coming weeks, covering areas including: digital TV, online banking and much more. Get online day - 24th October 2008 (added 30.06.08)
Following Get online day 2007 over 88% of visitors said they would return to their centre. We hope to improve on that success with Get online day 2008! But we need your help. If you are going to be running a Get online day event we want to hear about it! If you register your event with us, when registration opens in mid July, we'll help you to promote it and make it as big a success as possible. Watch out for more information here! This month's myguide promotion ends today (30 June 2008). If your centre has taken part in this great opportunity to win cash prizes then make sure you complete and submit your MI form. Your Help is at Hand website will shortly have a fresh new look and feel, and exciting new features. The new website which will use the same URL, will be launching in early July 2008 and your centre will be able to access the website in exactly the same way using your current username and password.
